St. Patrick

I found a different photo for St. Patrick's Day this year - the coat of arms over the door of St. Patrick's University Hospital.  Founded in 1746 with a bequest from Jonathan Swift (Gulliver's Travels, Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral it was one of the first hospitals to be planned and designed as a specialist psychiatric hospital.

I also have a couple of pictures of a city worker painting out graffiti on a gate. I like the first photo, but it needs the second one to put it in context.

I thought of you this morning as they were showing street shots of Dublin on the Weather Channel. We had yet another dusting of snow yesterday and the temps are still in the low 40's for the most part. Not at all like the beautiful day we had last year. Hope are having, or have enjoyed a lovely Sunday St. Patrick's Day.

Oh, and I meant to add about the graffiti pics that at first it reminded me of that picture technique where you cut two pictures in strips and angle them so you see one picture looking from the left and a different on from the right. I have mixed feelings about graffiti. I know some consider it an artform but I don't like it when it detracts from the beauty of something it's on. The stone railroad bridge down the street from me has been used as a canvas and spoiled the picturesque beauty of the arches over the river.
